The February reset ......
Who’s with me that February is really the new year, there’s so much pressure in January with new year and new you and goals etc .
When in reality January is just after winter Solstice, so for me January feels like the void, it’s a time of hibernation, and after the busyness of the holiday season, we need to ease into January and figure out the year ahead with grace and ease and make an aligned plan.
By nature we are cyclic beings connected to the seasons which we over ride due to modern life, which of course happens due the lives we leave.
But we can observe and connect back to our rhythms and the seasons and find a way to make it work for us.
I love the beginning of February because its Imbolc which marks the half way point to spring equinox, which means things are waking up, nature is starting to sprout. So it’s the perfect time to begin the year, plant some new seeds of intention and think of it as mini reset, ready to really begin the year ahead.
Heres some practical things I love doing the beginning of February to get on it :
Have a clear out and clear your space, doing this can really feel like a reset often after Christmas with the sales and we end up with lots of stuff, get your stuff into alignment, and get rid of what you don’t need and whats not serving you.
Make a feel good list, write down eleven things, one per month that you will commit to for the next year a head can be as small or big but is a great way to shift your vibration and whats important her is making sure you show up to this throughout the year.
If you wrote a goal list review it, does it really feel good? Get real with it, is it what you really want, its important to get clear on this, and does it feel do able, give your goal this a reset too and get feeling good about it.
Get support as well as supporting yourself this is vital when we are trying to get things done we often think of ourselves as an island. It’s often not that what you want to do is too big to do, but that you need some support to do it, this will look different for everyone, and the support you may need may be minimal but it can really make a difference.
Look after your wellbeing we hear this all the time, but getting consistent with this will change your life and its the best way to support yourself. Find ways that feel manageable and good for you to keep up, and watch things shift for you. Get an accountability partner such a friend to support you with this it can make a big difference.
Do the inner work; by this I mean check in with yourself regularly, be kind to yourself. Get aware of your triggers, for instance you could have a habit of comparing yourself with others which then goes onto impact other things in your life. Feel into it and become aware of things so don’t let them become such an issue and if you feel that it is, maybe get some help with it, or find a book that will help with it my friend Lucy Sheridan wrote ‘the comparison cure’ something like this can be very helpful. Often we let things build up because we are so focused on the outside. But regular check in’s will create shifts and bring about a new level of awareness and get us to address things, and by breaking it down and making it manageable will make all the difference.
Meditate I always say this but ten minutes a day done consistently is good medicine for your wellbeing, and really makes a difference, plus is an ideal thing to do when you have time constraints for other things. Try my meditation when you sign up to my email it’s free.
Lastly make sure you're having some fun in your life, often it’s the thing people forget to do believe it or not, or don’t feel they deserve to because they have to much to do. It’s about balance I’m not saying go crazy but make sure fun is an integral part of your life and infuse it into your life. It will definitely make the journey much easier, and will infuse that energy into it.
These are just a few things, but applying them will definitely lift the January blues you may of felt and boost where you are and get things moving in the direction you want.
Welcome in this half way point to Spring, I hope this is helpful reading would love to hear your thoughts drop me a message.
Have a good week.
All my love
